HAND IN HAND.
Tom’s love of filmmaking started early, documenting weekend trips to the coast before moving into nature films and stories about fishing adventures.
While completing his Honours Degree in Marine Biology, he saw an opportunity to bring his two passions together. Working alongside marine researchers highlighted the importance of science communication and the need to make valuable research more accessible beyond the scientific community.
Ecological Media grew from that idea: combining an understanding of the science with the ability to tell its story through film.

That understanding is combined with a collaborative filmmaking approach. By taking the time to explore the project’s purpose, audience and ideas with each client, Ecological Media creates films that are visually engaging, scientifically accurate and true to the work behind them.
